Exceptionally strong and self-motivated students with a background in at least two areas among AI, wireless communication, mathematical optimization, or Bayesian inference are still welcome to reach out. WPI has rolling admission, so applications are accepted anytime during the year.

What to expect
Life in the TRAIN Lab blends theory, systems, and real-world deployment — from mathematical foundations and AI/ML to building and testing on real wireless platforms. We value curiosity, rigor, and ownership: you’ll be encouraged to develop independent research directions, publish at top venues, and present your work at conferences. Expect close mentorship, collaborative discussion, and a focus on understanding why things work, not just that they do.
