Dr. Christo K Thomas
Assistant Professor, Worcester Polytechnic Institute
Dr. Thomas completed his postdoctoral research at Virginia Tech and earned his Ph.D. from EURECOM, France. He holds an M.S. from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and a B.S. from NIT Calicut. His research interests include semantic communications, statistical signal processing, and machine learning for wireless communications. Before academia, he contributed to 4G LTE, 5G modem design, and advanced wireless R&D at Broadcom, Intel, and Qualcomm.
PhD Students
Albert Shaju
PhD Student in Electrical & Computer Engineering
Albert is a PhD student at WPI. He earned his B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Calicut. Prior to joining WPI, he gained research experience at Nokia, IIT Madras, and IIT Hyderabad. His research interests include Next-Generation Wireless Networks (6G), AI-RAN, Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC), and Semantic Communications.
Master's Students
Vaansh Mansharamani
Master's Student in Artificial Intelligence, Worcester Polytechnic Institute
Vaansh is a master’s student in Artificial Intelligence at WPI. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at WPI, where he completed his MQP through a joint study with Kyoto University of Advanced Science on using neural networks to map wall-interaction forces onto drones. His current research applies artificial intelligence to semantic communication in multi-drone systems, supported by a simulation platform he helped develop for data collection and experimentation.
